This well-established and well-known Hamilton based community oriented organisation is focused on supporting individuals and their families make meaningful changes to enhance their health and well-being. It is in a transition process of relocating to a purpose built facility, and preparing to deliver services in new and different way. This is an exciting and challenging time to be joining the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with and advising the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), you will be responsible for developing and implementing an innovative strategic communications plan and associated initiatives that will help to strengthen engagement with all key external stakeholders, as well as support the ongoing growth of a refreshed organisational structure and culture. You will be expected to effectively use and leverage social media to connect with targeted audiences, as well as ensure that the website constantly reflects the organisation’s values and what it delivers well. An additional focus will be on ensuring that all marketing, communications, branding and associated collateral is used and/or delivered consistently across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven experience in a senior communications role, with a strategic focus, and have demonstrated the ability to be creative yet practical in developing communications strategies and initiatives within a changing and challenging operating environment, ideally in the public sector. You must have highly developed interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and demonstrate that can think well under pressure across multiple fronts. A relevant tertiary qualification, an ability to work with and relate to senior leaders, and a strong community engagement focus are sought after attributes. Having a good understanding of working with different cultures, ideally Pasifika, is highly desirable.
