This is a unique opportunity to join a well established and significant sized Waikato based business in the import/distribution sector with branches throughout New Zealand. Reporting to the Chief Executive New Zealand, the HR Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR activities and initiatives for the business which will be implemented across the company. The business employs over 300 staff.
In this role, you will provide “hands on” operational HR support for the business, which requires the provision of advice and work in the areas of recruitment, performance management, training and development, employment relations (ER) and remuneration/payroll. You will also play a critical role in leading the ongoing development of Health & Safety (H&S) practices, application and culture. Succession planning in some key parts of the business is an ongoing priority.
To be considered for this position you will need to have proven experience providing effective and practical operational HR management and support, covering all of the broad HR functions outlined above. Expertise in ER, and H&S would be an advantage. It is essential that you have been able to build effective business partnerships, have a strong focus on quality service delivery, have excellent organisational and multitasking skills, and well developed written and oral communication abilities, along with a relevant tertiary qualification. You will also demonstrate strong business acumen and be commercially astute.
HR management roles of this type are rare in the Waikato, and will appeal to a manager or senior HR Advisor who is looking to progress their career into a more senior position within a large business.
