The Western BOP PHO is a primary healthcare organisation based in Tauranga, and is owned by a joint venture partnership comprising of Ngaiterangi, Ngati Ranginui and Provider Inc. They provide a range of primary healthcare services for families in the region through around 28 general medical practices. It has a focus on keeping people well.

Reporting to the Board, the CEO will be expected to help develop and lead the implementation of strategic, business and service plans across the region. Supporting the Board with its strategic thinking and decision making, will also be an important aspect of the role, along with developing a strong and high performing team and organisational culture. Growing the business will be a priority, and there will be the challenge of leading the amalgamation process with the Eastern BOP PHO.

Key attributes sought for the role will include proven senior management experience, ideally within a health related environment, complemented with strong commercial skills and visionary strategic thinking capabilities. You will need to have excellent soft skills and relationship management abilities, and be able to work closely with influential stakeholder groups regionally and nationally. It is important that you have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. A relevant tertiary qualification is essential, along with a track record of having consistently delivering high quality business outcomes. A proven empathy with Maori health care is highly desirable, as is change management experience.
