Bay Venues Limited is a Council Controlled Organisation that manages 24 venues and facilities in the Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and Papamoa regions, including aquatics facilities, community centres and hall, gyms and the iconic ASB Baypark. They also offer a number of customer oriented leisure and event products, services and programmes.
This new role of CFO will be responsible for the integrated financial forecasting, management and reporting of the business’ financial performance across the all of their venues and associated activities. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be expected to work with, advise and support other Senior Leadership Team members with their business planning and financial decision making. You will also be a key advisor to the Board and its committees.
Key responsibilities will include the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual accounts, weekly and monthly cashflows reports, risk management and compliance, and the detailed analysis of overall business financial performance. You will be expected to lead and develop a team of seven. It will be a “hands on” role, and you will also be expected to actively contribute to strategy planning
Key attributes sought for the position includes previous senior financial management experience, and the proven ability to deliver accurate forecasting, a thorough analysis and reporting on financial performance. You need to have strong business acumen, excellent written and oral communication skills, be commercially astute, have good problem solving and organisational skills and be timely and accurate in your delivery of reports, information and advice. It is important that you have demonstrated the ability to effectively lead and develop a team, and can get on with a range of people. It is essential that you are a member of CAANZ.
