This organisation manages a large pool of funds, which it invests in economic development initiatives, including business growth, job creation, skills enhancement through education and training and the attraction of new businesses to the area. It has a long-term focus, and a strong commitment to improving the economic well-being of all of its communities of interest.
You will be expected to support an experienced Board and Executive to plan/scope and deliver their initiatives and strategies, through the development of well-founded project plans and work programmes, while actively facilitating engagement with key stakeholders, locally, regionally and nationally. It will be an autonomous and self-managing senior role, that will be highly relationship focused, but also strongly outcome and delivery oriented. There will be a project administration, research and analysis and organising forums to either inform of initiatives, or understand perspectives and needs.
It will be important that you come from having a project support and management background, and which has a strong relationship management component. You must be highly personable and likeable, have good self-awareness, and have high EQ to be able to deal with a range of people and challenging situations. A practical understanding of economic and community development will be important, as will be some experience in working with local and central government.
You must also be a high achiever, someone who thrives on being challenged to deliver, but equally can be patient and determined when needed. You will need to be well organised and detail conscious, and have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Research and project planning skills are essential, as is a relevant tertiary qualification.
